What I am going to do in Africa

Well, I tried today to make a video blog and EVERYTHING was getting in the way. I need to update so I figured this is the best way.

So I am going to Kisumu, Here is a map of where that is in the country of Kenya.
So I have learned the 4 things I am going to be doing in Kisumu;

Care and Compassion:
This is going to be caring for people who are literally on their death bed due to AIDS. We will be side by side with them letting them know there is someone in this world who cares for them. There is a good chance that I will see some of my new friends pass in front of me and it is inevitable that I will be hearing of their death soon after I get back.

Vulnerable Children:
We will be going into orphanages and Children's Prisons to love on Kids, I am super excited about this as I have always had a heart for kids in Africa... I can't wait to hug them and get to know them.

Choose to Wait:
This is something I am VERY excited about, I am the youngest in my group and have a lot of experience talking with young girls about waiting to have sex til marriage. We will be going into schools and meeting with girls ages 5-22 give or take and explaining to them the value of their sexual purity and the gift God gave them intended for a husband. In Kisumu 67% of people are infected with AIDS so it is literally a possibility of death if these girls are taken advantage of or give away their virginity to a random man.

4th Program:
It is new and I don't know too much what it entails, but it is a program to help keep kids with their biological families when they lose their parents.

Getting there is going to be an adventure in itself... I will post some video blogs on the money raised and all that soon...

I am diving into scripture, and this is what I would like... send me some of your fav scriptures to add into my memorization that you think would help... I am vowing to memorize 300+ verses before we go! So get to sending...

If you have not gotten a letter, be patient, I am praying over who I should send them to and they are going out slowly... I am learning that my letters are not only for my support but to open doors of communication with people about things God needs me to talk to people about...

LOVE YOU ALL! Thanks so much for all the support!

I am not sure if you can comment on here if you don't have a blogspot... but you should make one... and if not, just comment on my facebook. :)
